Internship Graphics Programmer

Internship description

Nixxes Software is part of PlayStation Studios and is located in the city center of Utrecht. We’re looking for a motivated intern, passionate about programming, to join our development team. As an aspiring graphics programmer you will get the opportunity to work on unannounced AAA game projects, collaborate and gain hands-on experience in game development projects under the guidance of our senior developers.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and/or extend rendering systems.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during development.
• Adhere to coding standards, best practices, and company policies.
• Participate in code reviews to provide and receive constructive feedback.
• Utilize version control systems to manage code changes and collaborate effectively.
• Communicate regularly with team members and supervisors to provide updates on progress and challenges in the project.
• Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines and deliver tasks on schedule.

Requirements

• Current enrolment in a relevant degree program (Creative Media and Game Technologies, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field).
• Basic knowledge of C++, shading languages, and graphics APIs.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Passion for technology and video games.
• Ready to learn and grow as a programmer.
• Available for a minimum of 20 consecutive weeks.

Plusses

• Prior experience with C++, modern APIs such as DirectX 12 or Vulkan, game engines, and PC games would be considered great assets.
• Experience with software development projects, game development projects or contributions to open-source projects is a plus.
